Our Process

From spec to finished piece

Every Waldrop piece starts with a conversation. We want to understand your space, your timeline, and what you are trying to achieve before we make any recommendations.

Materials

We work primarily in solid oak, walnut, maple, and cherry. All wood is sourced from domestic suppliers. We do not use MDF cores or veneer faces on structural pieces.

Joinery

We use mortise-and-tenon and dovetail construction for chairs and case goods. Pocket screws and dowels have their place in non-structural connections. We choose the joint for the load, not for speed.

Finishing

We offer oil, wax, and lacquer finishes. Oil and wax are renewable and repairable at home. Lacquer is harder and better for high-use surfaces like dining tables and kitchen cabinets. We will recommend what fits your piece and your household.

Lead time

Most pieces take 6 to 8 weeks from deposit to delivery. Larger projects like kitchen cabinetry take 10 to 12 weeks. We will give you a specific timeline in your quote and we stick to it.
